Welcome to Rescue Beagle USA.

This blog is dedicated to Lucky, my sweet little girl who passed away in her sleep peacefully on 12-14-12. Lucky was a lemon beagle and came to us as a "rescue" when she was about 3-years old. While she was initially scared, the poor thing was all of 20-lbs (and for her size that was severely under weight) with lots of love and snacks she became the best friend a person could ever have - please give a rescue beagle a second change!

About

Hello and thanks for stopping by . . . beagle lovers are always welcome!

My name is Diane and I live in New Jersey with Lucky, a 12-year old rescue beagle. She’s so very cute – tan and white. I love her long floppy ears and large brown eyes! She came to us as a rescue – so she needed some extra special loving for several years. We were told that she was a stray in Newark, NJ (not the best place in the world for a homeless pooch) and she weighted about 22 pounds (pretty much thin and bones). After nursing her back to health, I’m happy to report she’s about 36 lbs. and the vet is pleased but would like to see Lucky at about 34 pounds. She’s a larger beagle, 17 inches in height.

Anyway, I started this blog for Lucky. Really as a resource for folks thinking of adopting a beagle. There are so many wonderful beagles available. If you are in a position to adopt I encourage you to do so . . . the love you receive far outweighs the expense of having a dog. If you are not in a position to adopt, please consider donating to a rescue operation or even volunteering. I have many listed on this blog.

UPDATE ---- 12-14-12 -- I'm sorry to write that Lucky passed away in her sleep this morning.
